Terms of Service
Last Updated: June 2025
Welcome to AFK ATL, where we celebrate the fine art of getting off your phone and into the real world. Before you submit that event, sign up for our newsletter, or get lost in a wormhole of weekend plans, there are a few things we need to make clear.
Yes, this is the fine print — but we’ve done our best to make it legible and maybe even enjoyable.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using AFKATL.com (the “Site”), you agree to these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you don’t agree, don’t use the Site. It’s that simple. These terms may change occasionally, and by continuing to browse, you’re agreeing to the latest version.
2. What We Actually Do
AFK ATL curates, promotes, and publishes listings for real-world events in and around Atlanta. We’re not ticketing agents, venue owners, or a concierge (though we do have taste). We simply spotlight what’s worth showing up for — and trust our audience to use common sense.
3. Your Responsibility
When using this site, you agree to:
- Submit accurate, lawful event info that doesn’t infringe on anyone’s rights
- Not spam, scam, or otherwise behave like a digital goblin
- Use the site for its intended purpose: finding, sharing, or promoting cool things to do IRL
You are solely responsible for anything you submit — including event listings, images, and contact info.
4. Event Submissions & User Content
By submitting content (text, photos, logos, etc.) to AFK ATL, you:
- Confirm you have the rights to publish it
- Grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, edit, and promote it on our site, socials, and email newsletters
- Acknowledge that public submissions may be shared, promoted, or archived — especially if they’re fabulous
We reserve the right to refuse or remove listings for any reason — including (but not limited to) bad vibes, shady links, or flyer art that still uses Papyrus.
5. No Guarantees (But We Try)
We do our best to keep listings accurate, up-to-date, and relevant. However:
- We don’t guarantee that events will happen as listed
- We’re not responsible for typos, cancellations, last-minute venue changes, or rained-out food truck festivals
Double-check with organizers before making major plans. We’re here to inspire, not insure.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on AFKATL.com — including text, graphics, design, and branding — is the intellectual property of AFK ATL (unless otherwise credited). Don’t steal it. Don’t sell it. Don’t repost it without permission and a very flattering caption.
7. Third-Party Links & Services
We link to third-party sites (like ticketing platforms or restaurant websites) for your convenience. We’re not responsible for what happens once you leave our site. Proceed with caution, curiosity, and maybe a burner email.
8. Termination (Not the Fun Kind)
We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to our platform if you violate these terms, act in bad faith, or otherwise ruin the vibe.
9. Legal Matters & Local Laws
This site is operated from Atlanta, GA. Any legal matters will be handled under Georgia law. We recommend settling disputes with baked goods, but if it comes to court, that’s the jurisdiction.
10. Contact Us
Questions about these Terms? Reach out anytime:
We’re real people. We read our email. We might even respond with a thank-you GIF.
11. Sponsored Content & Affiliate Links
Sometimes we partner with brands, event hosts, or venues to promote content — that’s what keeps the lights on (and our inbox full of drink tickets). Sponsored posts are always clearly marked, and we only feature things we’d recommend even if no one paid us.
Some links on the site may be affiliate links, meaning we could earn a small commission if you make a purchase or booking through them. This comes at no extra cost to you, but it does help fund our caffeine habit and ongoing mission to make Atlanta less boring.
If you have questions about partnerships, feel free to email us at hello@afkatl.com. We’re transparent, approachable, and allergic to shady deals.
