AFK ATL started as a group chat among friends who were tired of saying “what’s going on this weekend?” and getting dead air — or worse, Eventbrite links to networking mixers with limp cheese cubes.

So we started curating. Then listing. Then tracking. Then sharing. What began as a passion project quickly turned into a full-blown platform for people who want to get out more — and do better things when they do.

We’re here to make offline culture easier to find. To support local businesses, artists, and organizers. And to prove that Atlanta doesn’t need another app — it needs a reason to go AFK (away from keyboard).
